Lee
Lee Roy Selmon's tale combines football scholarships for his family and service to his community. First family he is the youngest of the nine children of Lucious the Jessie and Lucious Selmon. They grew up on a family farm near Eufala, Oklahoma. Two soccer. He is among the three brothers that played for Oklahoma. The three brothers were all All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey & Lee Roy started for one season in 1973. Lee Roy received the Outland and Lombardi Awards for being the top lineman from the United States. In three years, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 with Roy as the starter. They also won the national title twice. The National Football Foundation named him as a Scholar-Athlete three times time in 1975. Selmon received a diploma as a teacher. Lee Roy was involved in voluntary work for 10 hours a week throughout his college years. After graduation, he moved to Tampa and played nine years with Tampa's Buccaneers. He was an All-Pro 3 times. Then he started his career. He was hired in 1988 as an Account Relation Officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also a part of the following organizations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. There's no surprise that The Junior Chamber of Commerce designated Lee Roy as among the most prominent young people in America. Lee Roy was 6'2" tall and weighed 265 lbs in the time he played football at college. The year 1975 was the first time he was the captain of the squad. He joined University of South Florida in 1993 as an Associate Director of Sports. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1988. He was also named to the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994 the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded the Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Sr. Henry Bellmon was the Oklahoma Governor that presented the award.
