Fawn Mckay

Fawn McKay's Brodie was born Ogden Utah on September 15 1915. Her family was part of the Mormon Church's original family Fawn McKay was able to direct her innovative literary talents and remarkable researching skills in the creation of a remarkable psycho-historical account of Joseph Smith, published in 1945. It was entitled:"No Man knows My History. The title comes from the funeral sermons of Joseph Smith, founder of The Church of Latter-Day Saints. The preacher shocked the audience when he said telling his audience: "You don't even know my name. It's been a long time since you've seen the inside of my mind." There is no one who knows my past. I'm not able to tell my story. Fawn, a 29-year-old woman wrote: "Since that moment of candor, at least three writers have risen to the task." A lot of them have denigrated him and some have praised him, a handful have attempted in the field of medical diagnosis. It's not because the records aren't complete, but rather they're wildly contradictory. This task is to delineate accounts from the plagiarism of third parties and to fit Mormons' accounts with other religions to create a coherent history. This is a fascinating and educational experience. Such was the task to which Fawn Brodie put her professional energy into. The fruits of her research as well as her writing earned her the world's attention: Thaddeus Stevens. The Devil Drives (1959) Scourge Of The South Thomas Jefferson. An Intimate Historical Document (1974) and a posthumously Richard Nixon.
