Sheryl Underwood was born in the state of Arkansas and raised there. She became a TV host on the talk show daytime The Talk. Born in Arkansas she grew up within Little Rock and Atwater. Sheryl comes out of the midst of a difficult background. Sheryl was a part of her youth taking care of her sister Frankie, who had polio. As a teenager, she had many problems with her mother. Sheryl alleges that, at one point she was stabbed by her mother's father after he became close to her. Sheryl was a college graduate when she, joined the army. Her passion was comedy. She was the sole female who made it to the competition in 1989 Miller Lite Comedy Search. Her TV career began in 1992, as a actor on the HBO comedy series Def Comedy Jam. The show was hosted by her Oh Drama! in 2000. The show has also featured her as a host on The Talk since 2011. Additionally, she's appeared in a variety of fictional characters on series including Bulworth Nikki, and Beauty Shop.
